You can pick up bed bugs almost anywhere. They are great at hiding and can be difficult to control. Call us if you think you have bed bugs.
Signs of bed bugs
- Small rust-colored or dark spots on sheets, the mattress or the box spring
- Itchy bites, often in a line or cluster, that show up overnight
- Live bugs about the size of an apple seed in mattress seams, the headboard or furniture joints
- Pale shed skins or tiny white eggs in the same hiding places
Why bed bugs are hard to get rid of
Bed bugs travel in luggage, used furniture and clothing, so having them says nothing about how clean a home is. They hide in seams, cracks and crevices during the day, which is why sprays from the store rarely reach all of them.
Until we get there, try not to move bedding or furniture into other rooms, because that is how bed bugs spread through a house. Washing and drying bedding on high heat helps in the meantime.

Common questions
Do bed bugs mean my house is dirty?
No. Bed bugs are hitchhikers. They come home in luggage, on used furniture or on clothing, and they turn up in clean homes as readily as anywhere else.
Should I throw out my mattress?
Not before talking to us. Carrying an infested mattress through the house can spread bed bugs to other rooms, and a new mattress can become infested too if the room has not been treated.
